What a great dandelion bloom we are having! Please don’t mow those dandelions if you don’t have to; they are the most important source of food (nectar & pollen) for honeybees. Enjoy the beauty of those magnificent yellow flowers, mow them after they got to seed.

“A weed is a plant who’s virtues have never been discovered” – Emerson
“A weed is the right plant in the wrong place”. – unknown
“Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them” – A.A. Milne
“A good garden may have some weeds” – Thomas Fuller
“We learn from our gardens to deal with the most urgent question of the time: How much is enough?” – Wendell Berry
“To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow.” ~ Audrey Hepburn

The soil, the plants, the nature cycles are continuing and we can participate to our benefit and enjoyment. The purpose of this blog is to share gardening ideas and experiences with you to our mutual benefit and joy. I will try to bring seasonally timely topics to our gardening community and ask that you also contribute your ideas, comments, and questions to make this even better. I look forward to writing regular articles and to hearing from you when you can share your thoughts. Onward…
